Accessible Property Register

Many social landlords do not hold accurate information about their accessible housing and many accessible and adapted properties are let to people who do not need them. Landlords can therefore make significant cost savings by making the best use of accessible housing stock and with this in mind Abritas has developed the Accessible Property Register (APR) module.

The Abritas APR module is based around a standard accessibility survey form that was developed as part of the London Accessible Housing Register project. APR survey forms can be completed either as part of a full stock survey or as part of a void inspection.

It is important to ensure that surveys can be completed easily and at a low cost. The module therefore supports two ways of capturing survey data. Firstly, surveys can be completed using digital pen technology. Forms are printed on special paper which allows the digital pen to determine which field is being completed. This information is stored on the pen for later download into the Abritas APR module. Alternatively, surveys can be completed using 3G enabled laptops. This allows surveys to be entered directly into the Abritas APR module.

Key benefits of this module include:

  • Cost savings through the better use of adapted properties
  • Savings on social care and support costs
  • Ensure accessible and adapted properties are made available to those who need them
  • More accurate information about adaptations on properties advertised through choice based lettings

Key features of this module include:

  • Digital pen integration for survey form completion
  • Automatic calculation of accessibility categories
  • Comprehensive reporting
  • Links to property gazetteer
  • Integration with choice based lettings
